Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

Ofsted use the Common Inspection Framework for inspecting schools. New and updated frameworks have been published for use on the following dates.

Archibald First School was last inspected by Ofsted in 2015 using the 2012 Framework. We will be revisited by Ofsted before August 2025. The next visit will under a new framework.

Archibald First School was inspected on 31st March and 1st April 2015 under the September 2012 Common Inspection Framework. Following the two day inspection, by three OFSTED inspectors, we were judged to be:

  • Leadership and Management: Outstanding 1
  • Behaviour and Safety: Outstanding 1
  • Quality of Teaching: Outstanding 1
  • Achievement of Pupils: Outstanding 1
  • Early Years Provision: Outstanding 1

The inspectors were so impressed with our whole school, our children and the standard of work they achieve on their journey from Early Years to Year 4 through their own dedication and also the wonderful teaching they receive.
